Dr. Phil Sticks his Big Nose into Britney's Mess

Did you see the story that Dr. Phil was planning on doing an intervention with Britney Spears and actually showed up at her hospital room when she was recently admitted after that weird stand off the other day?
I think this may be one of my favorite quotes of the year
Dr. Phil's public brand of tough love sometimes makes him tough to love, particularly among mental health professionals who are accusing television's self-help guru of making an uncalled-for house call on Britney Spears this week.

Although Dr. Phil — whose full name is Phillip McGraw — announced Monday that he is shelving plans for a show on Spears' latest breakdown, some in the mental health community say just showing up at her hospital room last week was going too far.

"It's true people sometimes need to be placed under involuntary mental health treatment because they can't take care of themselves," veteran psychiatrist Dr. Jeffrey Sugar said of the 26-year-old Spears. "But there's a difference between being detained involuntarily for psychological treatment and being forced to endure Dr. Phil involuntarily."

Seriously, dude, you seem to be more television personality than psychologist, and from what I hear on the Howard Stern Show you're not a very bright one at that. Get your ratings elsewhere and send her a real doctor, without the publicity. Let me guess, after fixing Britney Spears, you'll offer to help Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton, Rachael Ray, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Beyonce Knowles and Angelina Jolie.

Actually, your help might be needed with Carmen Kontur-gronquist. Not because there's anything wrong with her, I think hot mayors on firetrucks in their panties is awesome, but rather because she can probably get you some ratings too.

Actually, now that I think of it, try helping Kumari Fulbright. She's the calendar model and law student girl accused of kidnapping and torturing a boyfriend at gunpoint. If you've seen the picture of her you know what I mean.

How about Alycia Lane? She'e the former Philadelphia newscaster who allegedly sent bikini pictures of herself to Rich Eisen and is now in hot water for allegedly hitting a female police officer.

See there's lots of women you can minister to to help your ratings Dr. Phil, how about leaving Britney Spears to the real doctors.
