Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan apartment, naked in bed with sleeping pills nearby, police said. The Australian-born actor was 28. It wasn't immediately clear if Ledger had committed suicide.
He had an appointment for a massage at a residence in the tony neighborhood of SoHo, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said. A housekeeper who went to let him know the massage therapist had arrived found him dead at 3:26 p.m.
I am really sorry to see him go. I thought he was great with Mel Gibson in The Patriot, and I liked A Knight's Tale too. Of course his most memorable role was in Brokeback Mountain as the man who mumbled so much you could barely understand him, but that was such a good movie anyhow.
I even liked that he sort of appeared on Entourage, because his agent, Josh Weinstein, (Joshua Lebar) was trying to get him the part for A Walk in the Clouds and Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) talks his agent out of it for him.
Anyhow, I was sorry to read about Heath Ledger's death. He seemed like a good guy, and 28 is too young for anyone to go.
